Banana bread from Switzerland


  • 250 g whole grain flour
  • 150 g sugar
  • vegetable milk to get a thick liquid consistency of the dough
  • 3 medium and ripe bananas
  • 1 tablespoon of apple vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate
  • 1/2 bag of cream of tartar
  • a pinch of salt
  • a dash of cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 6 squares of dark chocolate


  1. Turn on the ventilated oven at 180°.
  2. Mix the liquid ingredients together in a bowl.
  3. Mix the solid ingredients together in a bowl.
  4. Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix them well.
  5. Cover a baking tray with baking paper and pour the mixture in, smoothing it down well. Take a fourth banana, cut it lengthwise into slices and place it on top of the mixture.
  6. Bake for around 50-60 and do the "toothpick" test. If it comes out dry, that means it is ready!
  7. Let it cool down for about ten minutes and then try it.
